Will you join us for a virtual prayer event each Sunday night at 6pm or 6:30pm? Our nation is deeply divided. We know the answer is Jesus Christ. 2 Chronicles 7:14 reminds us that Christians must humble themselves, seek God, and turn from our wicked way...then God will hear, forgive our sin and heal our land.

Pray for President Trump; Recovery of the Tension & Division (it's a sin problem, not a skin problem) accross the nation; VP Pence; Presidential Cabinet & staff members. US and State Congressional members; US and State Supreme Court Justices; Appellate Court Justices.

We are disheartened to announce that we will not host VBS in 2020 due to Covid19.  We are looking forward to 2021 to host Mystery Island from Answers in Genesis.  If you would like to view an online VBS-at-home option, please view Answers in Genesis' YouTube page containing IncrediWorld VBS online material just click here.  or Click Here for the Online Resources overall.  We are sorry for the inconvenience but feel this is the best option due to issues to overcoming current restrictions.

Open Letter to Springdale

Here's a letter I emailed area Pastors and business leaders:

I am writing to ask you to once again pray for our city.  Yesterday the City Council presented a new ordinance that was tabled until August 11 so that they can allow the public to share their thoughts.   This proposed ordinance states "the City Council finds that it is in the best interests of the City and its residents to create a permanent designated entertainment district to be known as the 'Downtown Springdale Outdoor Dining District,' subject to the regulations set forth in this Ordinance."    It specifies that this "entertainment district" allows public consumption of "alcoholic beverages that may be carried out of the establishment and consumed within the designated boundaries of the District between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. daily, as long as the beverage is contained in a designated District cup provided by a participating business in the District."   Plus the final emergency clause which states that  "the immediate passage of this Ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare; THEREFORE, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect beginning August 1, 2020."

I called all 8 of our City Council members to voice my concerns and dissent to such a district.  I have spoken to 5 and left voice messages for the other 3.  I was told that this "designated District cup" has already been preordered--before the ordinance was even read to the public.  It appears that someone was hoping to slip this ordinance in without notice.  I fail to see how the need for public alcohol consumption will preserve "public health, safety, and welfare" as they claim.  If you can help me understand how this will benefit Springdale, I welcome your thoughts.

I want to see the Springdale downtown area thrive and be a family-friendly place.  I don't see how making a public drinking area will do that.  The Arkansas Family Council has a tool kit (zip file) that can be downloaded with information regarding issues in similar districts in other cities.  I realize that Springdale is unique, but I see that the same negative impact of such districts would be harmful to Springdale.

I am not an expert on all the ins and outs of "entertainment districts" but I will not stand by and watch our downtown area become an eyesore after all the investments that have been taking place.  I welcome your comments to me personally should you be inclined and my contact information is below.  Please pray for our City Council and please share your opinion with them so they know how to vote.

Thank you for your time,

Pastor Wesley Hulvey

August Worship

Join us In-person or drive-in worship Sundays at 10am or view online

You may still download a study outline, Sunday School lesson, or listen to a recent online sermon. We want you to have a worship service at home and reach out to those around you as we think outside the box to minister and share the hope of Christ...March, April, May, June, and July virtual worship services are online.

Per AR guidelines, we encourage you to wear a mask when entering/exiting the building.  Once you are seated and no longer in close contact with others, you may remove your mask during the service.  We are trying to limit out time inside to around 1 hour for the worship time.

Prayer Bible Study

You're invited to join us for an exciting new study called The Battle Plan for Prayer.  From the movie War Room 8-week video based study will challenge you to pray...strategically and biblically.  We have study books available for $10 each (at the church) or you can order the digital study book online through LifeWay.

Journaling

Writing something down improves retention of the information.  The Bible is God's love letter to us so that we can share His love with others.  Journaling through your Bible reading connects God's Word to you in a whole new level.  Are you up for a new challenge?  Would you be interested in joining a group of fellow Christians in journaling?  Sign-up here...
